Nichols Research offers wireless translation equipment for research sessions conducted in native languages.
Native language research sessions are translated into English (or the desired language of the translator) and recorded as a digital file (.MP3). Additionally, the translated audio can be uploaded as audio only for transcription services and / or overlaid onto DVD.
A translator seated behind the one way mirror listens to the groups in the native tongue through headphones and speaks the translation loud enough for the observers to hear. The translation is recorded as a digital file through a microphone placed in front of the translator. The digital files of the translation along with digital files recorded in the native tongue are given to the client at the end of the night (or uploaded for transcription services or to an FTP site).
Additional wireless headphones are supplied for anyone who wishes to listen to the focus groups in the native language.
Translators are provided upon request.
